The notice says the New York State Supreme Court in New York County appointed Steven J. Smith as receiver under an order effective September 3, 2026. It identifies D&D 59th Street Building Company LLC as the property’s owner.
Tenants are directed to continue making rent payments payable to the entity named in their leases, but to mail them to Colliers International REMS US LLC. The notice says the receiver was in the process of engaging a management company and identifies Michael Gatto of Colliers, a Canadian investment management company, as the interim point of contact.
The address is identified as D&D annex in public showroom and property listings, and the building is home to many storied brands in the interior design business. The main D&D Building lists its address as 979 Third Avenue. The notice reviewed by Mr. Thread names only the East 59th Street property.
